A New Week

I went shopping allll day on Saturday and picked up this nice Mossimo Teal Cowl sweater Target and it's so comfortable! I think I'm going to get several outfits out this...I also got the shoes I'm wearing the the pick from DSW for a great price!! The bracelet I picked up on a previous visit to Dots (I love that store).

This weekend was pretty busy...Friday night my honey and I went to see Quantom of Solace and then called it a night since I was feeling pretty tired. I had a pretty stressful week! And then we shopped all day on Saturday...which I must say was a lot of fun and I'm sooooo happy to have a man that is patient and likes to shop too! :-) And Sunday I went to my friend Holley's Roller Skating birthday party and at first I was really, really scared to get on those skates but I decided to take a stab at it and although I busted my butt and fell a few times I think I did pretty good for not trying this since I was like 12 yrs old!!! I was actually feeling sore today!

Here is a pick of my cute shoes!

And to finish on my Sunday I went to see MADONNA in concert at Minute Maid Park. I wasn't the best venue for a concert but I guess they picked the venue that would make the most money. Okay, so I was really expecting a GREAT theatrical show and I was actually somewhat disappointed. FIRST of all, she had us waiting for 2 HOURS before she came on, NO opening act just some DJ playing on stage...I had read some reviews on previous cities and sad to say it happened to us too. On review I read talked about how she's been to all of the concerts since the Like a Virgin tour and said that she was disappointed with this concert. I was just hoping that since I've never seen her that I would still be impressed. Yeah, not so much...I've been to MUCH better concerts!!! And for how much we paid for our tickets she was tiny to us! We had to watch the screen most of the time....Overall, I had a good time and I would most likely pay to see her again with hopes that it would be better.

Well I'm excited for Thursday to get here because I have tickets to see METALLICA!!! ROCK ON!

Hope everyone has a great week!

A Teal Thursday

Today was a pretty stressful day at work, had to work late too!! Ugh! Anyway, I had a nice dinner with my honey at Grand Lux Cafe (sister of Cheesecake Factory) and it was DELICIOUS, and I totally forgot how large the portions were! I think I have enough leftovers for lunch and dinner tomorrow! LOL

After dinner I went to V's to do some shopping from the clothes she's planning on selling at a garage sale this weekend. I got some really cute tops for a great deal! Thanks V!!

Here are today's outfit details: Light weight sweater (NY&Co), Knit pants (NY&Co), and some comfy shoes (Merrell's) since I felt like my feet needed a break from heels, Earrings (??), Bracelet (bought on vacation in Santa Fe, NM) I love it!

Oh yeah, and man am I sore today!!!!! I was already feeling sore from my trainer session on Monday and yesterday I went to a Lift class and I'm ULTRA sore today! But I like it 'cause I know that I got a great workout. I'll be incorporating Lift class into my weekly workouts, it's that good!

Mauving through the week...

I didn't know what the heck to wear today! I decided that it would be best to wear a sweater since the temperature was going to go down a little. Now that I see myself in this picture I realize that this outfit definitely needs something like a belt, don't ya'll think?

I decided to cut off my head because it was a bad hair day! :-(

Details:

Sweater - NY&Co
Slacks - Ross
Peep Toe Heels - Maripe
Necklace - I made this several years ago when I went through my jewelry making phase.

Totally Vested Tuesday!

I picked up this little vest from Dot's on Sunday and I love it! I was really surprised that 3 of us wore brown "vest-like" outfits! Great minds think alike! LOL! And today Katie was on the same level as us! Too funny!

Anyway, yesterday I went back to my trainer for the first time in over a month and boy can I feel it today!! But it's a great feeling knowing that I got an excellent workout! I'm starting to feel more motivated to get in the gym and back on track with watching what I eat. I was weighed and measured today and found that although the scale has been showing I've lost weight, in reality I've lost muscle! NOT GOOD! All more reason for me to get back on track! I only wish I could afford trainer sessions twice a week FOREVER!

On to the outfit:

Vest - Dot's
White Pin Stripe Shirt - Not sure where I got this
7th Ave. Slacks - NY&Co
Pumps - Scarpa (Paris)
Pearl Necklace and Studs - Gift from my Honey!

My B-Day Week

My birthday week was great! My boyfriend personally delivered this beautiful arrangement and my mom bought me a VERY delicious edible bouquet. I also received a balloon bouquet, card and cake from my great co-worker friends. I spent my b-day evening eating dinner with my mom, brother, boyfriend and close friend Wilma which was really nice. I spent time with close friends the rest of the week...Overall, it was a really nice week!

Slithering through the day...

Last night I took a trip to NY&Co which is one of my favorite places to shop! I saw a lot of items that I loved but only walked out with a few because I didn't want to do too much damage, with the financial crisis and all. I did end up getting 4 - $15 City Cash cards so I can go back in November and get more goodies! Yay!! I did buy the purse that is in the picture which I absolutly fell in love with when I saw it. Whatcha' think?

Here is what I'm wearing:

White Front Tie top - NY&Co

White Bodyshaper - NY&Co

Pants - NY&Co

Two tone Brown/Goldish Pumps - La Scarpa (picked up on a trip to Paris)

My Good Deed!

Today I took advantage of the extra personal day that was given by my company to do some volunteer work. Me and two co-works/friends of mine, Hillary and Cynthia decided we would go to the Houston Food Bank to lend a hand. We first started by loading up some trucks with boxes of food that were on their way to different Pantry's across the city. One man said that his alone feeds approx. 200 families!! We also helped pack pantry boxes with various items which included bottled water, canned veggies, fruit, chili and basically any other items that we could find that were available.

It was a great workout! I would like to start setting time aside to start volunteering in various areas, although it would make me really sad I would like to volunteer at the Humane Society or SPCA and would like to go to Star of Hope again to help serve Lunch. All in all it makes me feel great to lend a helping hand!

As you can see my outfit isn't a polished look...but I was definitely comfortable!

My Losing Streak...

Okay, so after experiencing extremely uncomfortable bouts of acid reflux and the doctor telling me that I would be on medication for the rest of my life, I couldn't accept that so I knew that I had to make a change in my life. From that point on I cut out sodas, fast foods, anything fried and started working out at Curves. It took a little while for me not to take medication for the acid reflux but I started to learn what foods really messed with me and just stopped eating them. I stopped taking medication at the beginning of the year and only have issues once in a great while. I dropped about 15lbs and lost a ton of inches working out at Curves and well I stopped going for a few months and then decided to join 24Hour Fitness with my man.

Anyway, I started working out with a trainer back in July and boy it made all the difference in the world! If only I could afford to keep going!! Here are a few pictures dated Jan. 2006, May 2007, March 2008, Sept. 2008.

I haven't reached my goal but I know I'll get there one day! Thanks to having a great support system (my boyfriend Larry, friend Hillary and my Mom, Oh Yeah I can't forget my GRRREAT Trainer!).
